Microwave heating direct denitrification device in post-processing plant in Japan

Abstract

On October 19, the Power Reactor and Nuclear Fuel Development Corporation announced for the first time its new uranium-plutonium hybrid test device attached to the East China Sea Reprocessing Plant. This conversion technology can not only extract plutonium, but also convert plutonium nitrate recovered from reprocessing plants into powdered oxides. This technology was also highly praised by the United States at the Japan-US post-processing expert meeting held in Tokyo in early October.
