Homes in Sweden found to be highly radioactive

British "Nature" magazine reported on September 6, 1979] Sweden found that some houses had very high concentrations of radioactive radon daughter elements, and the corresponding dose was generally equivalent to 3 mSv per year, and the highest Equivalent to 100 mSv per year. The reason for this is that the soil and rocks where the housing is located contain radium, as do the building materials, especially the aerated concrete made from alum shale, which is commonly used in Sweden, which is very high in radium. Radium emits radon gas, which decays into radon daughter elements.
