Abstract

According to a research report recently published by international nuclear experts, unless major domestic political and economic changes occur in Western countries within the next five years, the General Electric Company, Babcock & Wilcox Company, Power Plant Alliance and Asia Atomics will likely be forced out of the nuclear reactor deal. If nothing changes by 1988, distributors such as Combustion Engineering and Westinghouse may also go bankrupt, followed by the withdrawal of Canadian suppliers from the nuclear reactor trade. The report went on to say that a worst-case interpretation is that the exit of these dealers would threaten the nineties
