Abstract

The development of China’s atomic energy industry is not completely known to the public. Koichi Kawakami, a professor at Kanagawa University in Japan, visited China from the end of August to the beginning of September. The meeting was held, so that Professor Kawakami learned about the current situation of China's atomic energy development and the thinking of Chinese officials on the development of the atomic energy industry. According to what we have learned, the current development of China's atomic energy industry can be roughly summarized as follows: In 1957, China introduced a 7-megawatt heavy water research reactor from the Soviet Union and started the development of the atomic energy industry.
